BUYERS
How do I find an item?
There are several ways to located items on Collectors Network. All items are arranged by category. Choose a category on the left side of the page to begin. Some categories are furthered arranged into subcategories, where items are more narrowly arranged. Collectors Network has a search box on every page. The search function will search the entire site. Searches can also be narrowed within a certain category.
 
How do I purchase items?
Once you locate an item to purchase, there are several ways to complete the transaction. Buyers can purchase any item immediately at the sellers stated price, or can make a lower counter offer to the seller. The counter offer is not available on some items. To purchase, enter the number of items that you would like to purchase. If you are making a counter offer, enter the price you are willing to pay per item. You will be taken to a confirmation screen to complete the purchase or counter offer.
 
How do I purchase an item immediately?
You can purchase an item immediately by filling out the form at the bottom of the item listing. Once your purchase is confirmed, the seller will be sent an email containing your purchase order.
 
How do I make a counter offer on an item?
Buyers can make a counter offer on items by filling out the counter offer form at the bottom of the item listing. Please note that some sellers may prohibit counter offers on certain items. Counter offers will expire in 48 hours if the seller does not accept or reject your offer.
 
How long should I wait for the seller to contact me?
Typically, the seller should contact the buyer within three business days. If you are unable to contact the seller within in reasonable time, the deal is voidable at the buyer's option.
 
Return Policies
Sellers are entitled to list items "as is", and are not required to offer an exchange or return policy. When in doubt, please contact the seller prior to bidding to clear up any questions.
 
SELLERS
How do I sell an item?
You can sell an item by adding your item to the exchange.

To add a new item to, follow the add Item link on any exchange page. A new exchange listing will last for 30 days. listings can be renewed at any time before expiration, and can be set to automatically renew every 30 days.

The following fields are available when listing a new item.

Title (required): Select a descriptive title that will immediately attract buyers to your list. The title should accurately describe the listed item. Avoid using words such as "Wow", "rare","hard to find" that may not actually describe the item listed.

Category (required): Select the appropriate category for your listing.

Price (required): The price you are willing to accept for your item. All prices are in US dollars. Note, users may be able to make counter offers (please see counter offers for more information). Please do not include any currency symbols.

Quantity (required): The quantity of the item you are offering for sale. The default setting is one.

Description (required): The description should fully and accurately describe the item(s) listed, and can include html or images. The description may include the terms and conditions of sale.

Location (required): The location where the item is located.

Image URL (optional): Include a hosted image in your listing.

Terms: The Terms describe any policies regarding payment, shipping or returns. All Terms and Conditions set be clearly set forth by the seller to avoid later buyer disputes.

Payment types (required): Your listing must contain at least one valid payment type. Select all valid payment types you accept on the item. Collectors Network prohibits sellers charging any surcharges for accepting any of the following payment types, except for C.O.D. or escrow services.

Firm Price (optional): The Collectors Network exchange allows users to make counter offers on items. If you do not want to accept counter offers, check the "Will not accept counter offers" box.

Shipping (optional): The shipping charge for the item listing. You can also include the in the listing additional shipping charges for multiple item purchases.

SASE (optional): Check this box if self addressed stamped envelopes are accepted as a shipping option.

International (optional): Check this box if you accept international purchases.

Combine Shipping (optional): Check this box if you combine shipping on multiple item purchases. This option can be further described in the terms and conditions.

Sales Tax (optional): Include applicable sales tax charges in your listing. This should include the state where such taxes are applicable.

Expiration Email (optional): Check this option if you wish to receive emails when your listing expires or is automatically renewed. This option is available on each separate listing.
Auto renew listing (optional): Check this option to automatically renew your listing every 30 days.

Save settings (optional): Check to save fields marked with a (*) for later use.

Featured listing (optional): Your listing will be featured on the Exchange home page, and on the top of the relevant category listings. Featured ads are a separate $2.95 charge.

All listings must comply with the listing policy and rules of the exchange.
 
How do I know if an item is illegal to sell?
The Collectors Network policies contain a partial list of prohibited or illegal items. If you are unsure an item is illegal to sell, please contact an attorney or local agency that may know the laws regarding your item for more information.
 
When will my item be available in the category listings and search function?
Items are immediately available in the category and search listings.
 
How do I renew my item?
Editing an item will extend the date by 30 days. Items can also be set to automatically renew every 30 days. This can be done when the item is initially posted. If you have not set the item to automatically renew, you can edit the item later to include this feature with your item listing.
 
Will I receive notification when my item expires?
Sellers can set their notification preference for each item. An expiration notification will not be sent unless the seller has requested this feature for the item listing. This can be done when the item is initially posted. If you have not requested an expiration email, you can edit the item later to include this feature with your item listing.
 
Does Collectors Network collect payment from the buyer?
No, Collectors Network does not collect payments from buyers.
 
How do I delete or cancel a listing?
Goto the exchange tab under My Account, and delete the item listing. Note, if your item has received a valid purchase offer, you cannot delete the item. If additional quantities are no longer available, the item quantity should be changed to zero. This will remove the item from the active exchange listings.
 
How do I edit an listing?
Goto the exchange tab under My Account, and select the item to edit. Items can still be edited even if a valid purchase orders has been received. Editing an item will extend the date by 30 days.
 
When will I be charged for selling an item?
Sellers are charged only when a valid purchase order is placed. This includes the acceptance of a buyers purchase orders. The final value fee will be based on the purchase price of the transaction (quantity times unit price). A final value fee will be charged to your account. Please see the fee schedule for more information.
 
Does Collectors Network offer a bulk uploader for sellers?
No. This feature will be available in the near future.
 
How do I accept/reject a buyers counter offer?
You can accept or reject a buyers counter offers under My Account. Select buyer offers under the Exchange tab, and select the applicable purchase offer. You will be taken to a page where you have the option to accept or reject a counter offer. If no action is taken, the counter offer will automatically expire in 48 hours.
 
Can I prohibit certain users from purchasing or making offers on my items?
You can block certain users from purchasing or making offers on your items under My Account. Select block users under the Exchange tab. You will be able to review, add or delete users that are blocked from purchasing, bidding or making offers on your items.

Definitions
Counter Offer/Buy Offer - When a buyer offers to purchase an item from a seller for less than the seller's asking price.

Purchase Order - When a buyer agrees to purchase an item from a seller at the asking price, or when the seller agrees to accept the buyer's counter offer.
 
Can I leave feedback for other user's?
Yes. Collectors Network has an integrated feedback system, where users have a composite feedback total. The feedback total is based on positive, negative and neutral comments left by other users. Feedback can be left for any transaction on Collectors Network, including trades in our forums. Please see the feedback section for my information.
 
How do I report illegal, infringing or fraudulent listings, or other violations of the terms, conditions and policies?
If you feel a listing is illegal, infringing or fraudulent, or a user is violating the terms, conditions and policy of Collectors Network, please report the violation to us.
 
Am I allowed to use management software to track my personal transactions?
Yes. Members are allowed to use bulk uploading, automatic bidding and auction management software that enable users to track their own buying and selling information.
