Trades Help

Confirmed trades are trade offers run through the Collectors Network system. Confirmed Trades create a binding contract between two users, and entitle the parties to use the feedback system once the transaction is complete. Every message in the forums has a link to create a trade offer to another user. Use the "Trade" button at the bottom of the message to create a new trade offer. The process works as follows:

   1) A user ("the offeror") makes a trade offer to another user ("the offeree") through the trade offer form.
   2) The offer is emailed to the offeree.
   3) The offeree is given an option to accept or reject the trade offer. If the offeree takes no action, the offer will automatically expire after 72 hours.
   4) After the offeree makes a decision, the offeror will be sent an email accepting or rejecting the offer.
   5) After the transaction is complete, both parties should leave appropriate feedback.

What can I trade on Collectors Network?
You can trade anything that you can legally possess and transfer in your jurisdiction. If you are unsure, please contact an attorney for more information.

Are there any costs for using the "Confirmed Trades" system?
No, the confirmed trades system is free.

Will my offer expire?
Yes. Offers expire after 72 hours if no action is taken by either party.

Can I retract my offer?
Offers can be retracted anytime prior to acceptance by the offeree.

Can I edit an offer I have created?
No, offers cannot be edited. Instead, retract your original offer and create a new offer.

How do I make a counter offer?
To make a counter offer, Reject the original offer and make a new offer to the original offeror.

What are my obligations to the other party in a confirmed trade?
An accepted trade offer creates a binding contract between two users. As such, both parties are expected to send the agreed upon items to the other party. If you are unable to complete your agreed upon obligations, please contact the other party and explain the situation. If you have already received merchandise, you should send the merchandise back or make appropriate substitute arrangements with the other party.

What if the other user does not send the items agreed upon?
First, try to work the problem out with the other party. If you are unable to work out the dispute, leave appropriate feedback and contact us for assistance. Collectors Network cannot guarantee that you will receive the items. However, we will contact the other party on your behalf. Users not fulfilling their part of a trade may be subject to account suspension or termination.

Can I leave feedback for other user's?
Yes. Collectors Network has an integrated feedback system, where users have a composite feedback total. The feedback total is based on positive, negative and neutral comments left by other users. Feedback can be left for any transaction on Collectors Network, including trades in our forums. Please see the feedback section for my information.

Do I need to use the "Confirmed Trade" system in order to leave feedback for other users after completing a trade?
Yes. Feedback can only be left for valid trade offers through the Collectors Network system. This protects users from receiving feedback not pertaining to a Collectors Network transaction. If users were allowed to leave feedback without a transaction, it would be possible for anyone to leave negative feedback even if no transaction actually occurred.
